UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

LAS VEGAS (July 14, 2025) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.

 

Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will primarily take place during the daytime, with some work scheduled at night to minimize disruptions to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.

 

Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.

 

California

 

Cima Road and I-15

Geotechnical borings will continue along I-15 for the future wildlife crossings. Work will take place on the southbound exterior shoulder approximately 5.5 miles north of Cima Road (Clark Mountain), and 0.5 mile south of Zzyzx Road (Soda Mountain) on the northbound and southbound exterior shoulders. Work is scheduled from Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 18, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

SR 210 to Southbound I-15 Connector Ramp

Bridge potholing will be performed at the interchanges at Beach Avenue, on the westbound SR 210 to southbound I-15 connector ramp, and on the southbound I-15 to eastbound SR 210 connector ramp, on Monday, July 14, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

I-15 and SR 210 interchange

Bridge potholing will be performed on the I-15 and SR 210 interchange, including the eastbound SR 210 to southbound I-15 connector ramp and at Duncan Canyon, on Tuesday, July 15, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

Main Street and I-15

Bridge potholing will be performed on the I-15 interchanges at Main Street and Ranchero Road on Wednesday, July 16, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

I-15 and Lenwood Road

Bridge potholing will be performed overnight at the interchanges of the I-15 freeway at 1st Street, Lenwood Road, and at the northbound SR 40 to northbound I-15 interchange, on Thursday, July 17, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
