UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

LAS VEGAS (June 30, 2025) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.

 

Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and coordination with Caltrans.

 

Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.

 

California

 

Basin Rd. and I-15

Geotechnical borings will continue on the I-15 for the future wildlife crossings. Work will continue at approximately 3.5 miles south of Basin Road (Cady Mountain) on the northbound and southbound exterior shoulders; and in the freeway center median approximately 4 miles south of Basin Road (Cady Mountain). The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 30 and continue through Thursday, July 3, 7 am to 4 pm.

 

Duncan Canyon and I-15

Bridge potholing will be performed at the interchanges of the I-15 freeway, from Ducan Canyon to the SR-210 freeway, eastbound to northbound connector ramp, on Tuesday, July 1, between 7 am and 3 pm.

 

Mojave Dr. and I-15

Bridge potholing will be performed at the interchanges of the I-15 freeway, from Mojave Drive to Bear Valley, at night on Wednesday, July 2, between 10 pm and 4 am.

 

Oak Hill Rd. and I-15

Infiltration test will be performed on the I-15 gore area of the Oak Hill Road northbound offramp, on Tuesday, July 1, from 7 am to 5 pm.

 

Alvord Rd. and I-15

Infiltration test will be performed in the I-15 center median just south of Alvord Road on Wednesday, July 2, from 7 am to 5 pm.

 

No work on Friday due to the July 4th holiday.

 

Note: Dates and times are subject to change. These operations are weather-dependent.
