UPDATE: NEW LOCATIONS FOR BRIGHTLINE WEST FIELD INVESTIGATION WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAS VEGAS (Sept. 23, 2024) – Brightline West announces updates to field investigation work in Southern California within the rail corridor that is located along the Interstate 15 right-of-way. No field investigation work is scheduled for the week in Nevada.
Field investigation work includes geotechnical borings and samplings, utility potholing, and land surveying. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours with some work at night to minimize disruption to traffic. In some instances, short-term closures of freeway shoulders will be required. All work will be done in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and in coordination with Caltrans.
Updated project areas are listed below. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits, and other signage.
California
On I-15 from Mountain Pass to Halloran Spring Road:
Plate Load Testing will be performed in the freeway center median from Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On I-15 from north of Zzyzx Road to Meridan Road:
Geotechnical borings are scheduled in the freeway center median and wash ditch bridge areas, Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27, 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
On I-15 south of Dale Evans Parkway:
Geotechnical borings are scheduled in the freeway center median and wash ditch bridge areas from Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27, 6 a.m. through 4 p.m.
North of Duncan Canyon Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place North of the Duncan Canyon Road, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Monday Sept. 23, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near CA Aqueduct (Amargosa Road) (I-15):
Potholing will take place near CA Aqueduct (Amargosa Road), outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Monday Sept. 23, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
South of Duncan Canyon Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at south of Duncan Canyon Road near the outside of the northbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Between Outpost Road and Muscatel Street (I-15):
Potholing will take place between Outpost Road and Muscatel Street, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Sierra Ave Undercrossing (I-15):
Potholing will take place along Sierra Street (crossing under the I-15 Freeway), north and south of the I-15 freeway. This will occur on Wednesday Sept. 25, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Lane closure will be required on Sierra Ave.
South of Sierra Ave. (I-15):
Potholing will take place South of Sierra Ave., outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Wednesday Sept. 25, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Seneca Road (I-15):
Potholing and will take place at Seneca Road, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits and outside Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Wednesday Sept. 25, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
South of Duncan Canyon Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at south of Duncan Canyon Road outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Thursday Sept. 26, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
North of Duncan Canyon Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at north of Duncan Canyon Road outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Thursday Sept. 26, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required on the southbound off ramp.
Near Valley Center Dr (I-15):
Potholing will take place at near Valley Center Dr, outside of the northbound I-15 freeway limits and outside Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
South of Duncan Canyon Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place at south of Duncan Canyon Road near the outside of the northbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Near Luna Road and Mariposa Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place Near Luna Road and Mariposa Road, outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, inside and outside of Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Shoulder closure will be required.
Near Dos Palmas Road and Yates Road (I-15):
Potholing will take place near Dos Palmas Road and Yates Road outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits, but within Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
South of Palmdale Road (I-15):
Manhole dips will take place near south of Palmdale outside of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway limits and outside of Caltrans Right of Way. This will occur on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
